Happy Easter
Easter is behind us now for another year and spring is upon us with early blooms beginning to pop up everywhere. It’s April already with 7 weeks ’til our first 613 MGTPA pulling event for the 2024 season. Many thanks go out to the over 30,000 visitors who visited our 613 website in the past 4 months!! Pretty incredible, eh!!
Major changes are about to take place which will serve to redirect and alter our original proposed/tentative schedule since K&K Insurance USA has dropped coverage on all Canadian events in 2024. This unforeseen move has left NASOA trying to find or replace Canadian sled owners with insurance. For those of us paying our dues and certification fees, the NASOA no longer provides any coverage for Canadians at prices posted when we joined in December 2023.
It would appear that previously scheduled events at the fairgrounds in Maxville will now have to be canceled and transferred to the Riceville Fairgrounds facility, as 10 insurance providers have turned our applications down for Maxville’s dirt track in a parking lot with no permanent safety barriers or fencing in place.
“Waltzing Matilda” is nearly completed with testing taking place mid-month, then it’s off to Al’s for complete sandblasting and painting. A big special thanks again to Green Valley Kubota for its sponsorship in the upcoming years 2024, 2025, and 2026.
